Terence Henry Stamp, born on 22nd July 1938, is an esteemed English actor, renowned for his sophisticated villain roles. He started his career after completing his training at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London in 1962. He got his big break with the title role of Billy Budd, earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor and a BAFTA nomination for Best Newcomer. Called the 'master of brooding silence' by The Guardian, Stamp became a part of the Swinging London scene of the 1960s. He gained wider fame for his performance as General Zod in Superman (1978) and Superman II (1980) and earned more laurels with The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994). His other significant works include Wall Street (1987), Young Guns (1988), Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999), The Haunted Mansion (2003), Elektra (2005) and off-late Last Night in Soho (2021). Terence Stamp's life wasn't limited to acting, he also penned three volumes of his memoirs and a novel titled 'The Night'. He even co-authored a cookbook, showcasing his varied interests.
