Plot Summary

Rusty (Shawn Hatosy), a rough-around-the-edges young man in his mid-20s, has found himself stuck in a cycle of debt and desperation alongside his best friend Dallas (Caan). To make ends meet, they work as bounty hunters for local crime boss Bear (Heavy D), collecting small debts from those who owe him. Rusty’s mother, played by Kelly Lynch, is at her wit’s end trying to steer her son away from this destructive path. Desperate to break the cycle of chaos, she convinces Rusty to start therapy sessions with her boyfriend, Bob (Jeff Goldblum), in a last-ditch effort to salvage his future.

As Rusty begins to contemplate a return to Texas and the world of rodeos, Dallas is presented with an opportunity that promises a life-changing payout: $50,000 to drive for “Rubin the Roofer,” with a hefty upfront payment of $1,000 required. Desperate to get in on the action, Dallas sets out to scrounge up the necessary funds by borrowing from Christian (Val Lauren), one of the men they collect debts from for Bear. When Christian refuses to lend him the cash, Dallas proposes a bold plan: he’ll rob Bear alongside Christian, convinced that there’s a small fortune waiting to be had.

However, things take an unexpected turn when Christian overhears Dallas confiding in Rusty about his true intentions - to go through with the job alone with Rubin, rather than with Christian. Seething with betrayal and seeking revenge, Christian decides to follow Dallas and Rubin on their heist, only to discover that they’re targeting Bear’s stash. The ensuing chaos ends in tragedy, as Dallas and his accomplices meet a bloody demise.

As Rusty boards a bus headed for Texas, the fates seem to be aligning once more. As the vehicle rumbles down the highway, a billboard catches his eye: “Dallas 362,” a stark reminder of the consequences that have unfolded. The title serves as a haunting epitaph, underscoring the devastating toll that Dallas’s choices have taken on those around him - including Rusty himself.
