After only two weeks of dating, Tom (Iain De Caestecker) invites Lucy (Alice Englert) to join him and some friends at a festival. The night prior, Tom decides to surprise Lucy by taking her to the Kilairney House Hotel, an enchanting yet secluded spot nestled away on a network of remote roads in the picturesque Irish countryside. However, before reaching their destination, they make a stop at a local pub, where tensions flare between Tom and some of the local patrons.

As they navigate the desolate back roads leading to the hotel, both Tom and Lucy become disoriented, repeatedly circling back to the same location despite following the posted signs. Their situation becomes more dire when their satnav suddenly ceases to function. Strange occurrences heighten their anxiety; Lucy spots a mysterious man wearing a white mask, and soon after, she feels someone trying to grab her from the shadows.

During a frantic escape from an unseen assailant, Tom accidentally hits a man in the road. The man introduces himself as Max (Allen Leech), claiming to be under attack by the same sinister forces chasing Tom and Lucy. As the night unfolds, it is revealed that Max is far more dangerous than he initially appears, possessing the uncanny ability to manipulate the very roads that trap the couple. In a tense showdown, Tom forcefully ejects Max from their vehicle, leading to a brutal confrontation that leaves Tom with a broken wrist.

With their car now out of petrol, Lucy and Tom retreat into the woods, armed only with their torches. However, in the darkness, Tom suddenly disappears after being ambushed. Alone and panicked, Lucy returns to the vehicle and discovers a petrol can conveniently placed in the front seat. Refilling the tank and witnessing the satnav miraculously springing back to life, she drives ahead, only to find the hotel abandoned. The parking lot littered with neglected cars suggests that others have met a similar fate.

Desperate and pursued, Lucy’s nightmare intensifies when Max returns in a menacing Land Rover. After managing to stop the car, she uncovers a disturbing truth: a tube connects the exhaust pipe to the boot. Horrified, she opens the boot to find Tom bound inside, lifeless due to carbon monoxide poisoning from the tube forced into his throat.

As dawn breaks, Lucy finally finds the path back to the main road. However, as she drives across a desolate moor, she spots Max standing ominously in the distance. With a chilling smile and arms outstretched toward her, Lucy is left with no choice but to slam her foot down on the accelerator, hurtling towards the man who embodies her worst fears.
