What was the primary focus of the Marchetta sisters before the scandal?
As affluent Hollywood socialites, Tanzie and Ava Marchetta have been living life to the fullest, indulging in extravagant shopping sprees and romantic adventures while neglecting their family’s cornerstone business, Marchetta Cosmetics. After their father passed away, the sisters seemed more focused on maintaining their lavish lifestyles than honoring the legacy he left behind with business partner Tommy Katzenbach. Only the impending departure of Tanzie to college and Ava’s upcoming engagement to Mic seemed to merit their attention.
However, destiny threw a wrench into their glamorous lives when a media scandal erupted, revealing the shocking side effects of their popular night cream, which had disfigured several unsuspecting users. With their father’s impeccable reputation now in tatters, the sisters retreated to their opulent mansion, trying to cope with the devastation. In the midst of their turmoil, a tragic accident occurred: a fire broke out, threatening to consume their home.
In their frantic efforts to save what they could, Ava and Tanzie uncovered some of their father’s cherished possessions, including his prized watch and Ava’s engagement party dress, spared from the blaze. Amid the chaos, Tanzie successfully retrieved their treasured TiVo box, packed with recordings of their father’s insights about his cosmetics empire. Yet, the sisters’ lavish lifestyle took a nosedive as they faced a credit card blockade, rendering them penniless and forcing them to seek refuge with Inez, their devoted maid and family friend.
Reduced to a shadow of their former lives, Ava and Tanzie were thrust into the harsh light of reality—no longer darlings of the social scene. Stripped of their luxury car, which was stolen by two men masquerading as valets, they resorted to public transport, only to be turned away at the door of Ava’s own engagement party. As if that wasn’t enough, their supposed friend Etienne betrayed them, and Mic’s agent Sol callously dismissed Ava, labelling her a “liability.”
As the sisters witnessed their father’s legacy teetering on the brink of collapse, Tommy concocted a plan to sell Marchetta Cosmetics to their fierce competitor Fabiella for an astonishing $60 million, splitting the profits with Ava and Tanzie. With just 30 days to avert disaster, despair clouded the sisters as they grappled with their father’s downfall.
Meanwhile, Rick, a lab technician and Tanzie’s love interest, helped guide them amid the media chaos. This inspired Ava and Tanzie to take matters into their own hands. They sought help from Henry, a lawyer at a free legal clinic, proposing an unconventional idea: to act as “private investigators” and fight to restore their father’s name. Initially skeptical of their capabilities, Henry ultimately agreed to assist the sisters in uncovering the truth behind the scandal.
Fueled by determination and a strong desire to restore their family’s honor, Ava and Tanzie set out on a treacherous mission. While captivated by a news report, Tanzie noticed a familiar face: Margo Thorness, who had publicly accused Marchetta of causing her disfigurement. Seizing the moment, Tanzie donned her best attire and charmingly maneuvered her way into the KLAE offices, worming out the access to the crucial file room. With newfound power, she managed to obtain the address of Margo before being apprehended for fraud and trespassing.
After her release, Ava came to Tanzie’s rescue, sacrificing their father’s beloved Rolex to cover her sister’s bail. This act of kindness led Henry to emphasize the importance of family over material wealth—an enlightening moment for Ava.
The truth emerged as Margo eventually admitted that she had received compensation from Marchetta for her supposed injuries. However, another twist unfolded when an encounter with Margo’s neighbor exposed that she had a pre-existing skin condition, completely dismantling her false claims.
With their newfound evidence in hand, Ava and Tanzie stormed into a board meeting, where they successfully salvaged the Marchetta name and brought Tommy’s corrupt actions to light—revealing his scheme to fabricate testimonial evidence and siphon money from the sisters’ accounts. In a swift move, Ava terminated Tommy, reclaiming integrity for their family company.
Fast forward six months: Ava has stepped into the role of CEO, while Tanzie pursues her passion for chemistry as a skilled chemist. Both sisters have evolved into formidable businesswomen and found love—Ava with Henry, and Tanzie with Rick. As they embrace their new lives, the sisters emerge from the ashes, stronger and more united than ever, ready to face whatever challenges lie ahead.
