Neither Ravi Patel, a 30-year-old aspiring actor, nor his sister are married, much to the disappointment of their parents, Vasant and Champa, who enjoyed a successful arranged marriage. In secret, Ravi has been dating Audrey, a red-headed American woman, but recently he and Audrey ended their romantic relationship. During a family trip to India, coinciding with the bustling “wedding season,” Ravi reluctantly decides to search for a life partner. He embarks on this journey through a series of matchmaking endeavors, which include dates with Indian-American women from the Patel community in Gujarat.

The matchmaking process involves circulating biodata sheets, registering on matrimonial websites, evaluating potential partners, and attending various matrimonial conventions and ceremonies. As his parents orchestrate numerous dates, they express their disappointment at Ravi’s reluctance to commit and his unusually high standards. Throughout this whirlwind of matchmaking, Ravi confides in his sister Geeta, who is concerned about his occasional rendezvous with Audrey, despite their breakup and her pleas to redefine their relationship.

As Ravi navigates the dating scene, he gradually realizes that his heart still belongs to Audrey, his first love. He understands that no matter how hard he tries, he can’t find anyone like her. Initially hesitant, his parents listen to his reflections and eventually come to accept his feelings, loosening their expectations regarding his choice of partner. In the end, Ravi returns to Audrey, who wins over his parents with her charm and embraces Indian customs, solidifying their love story.
