What is the primary mission of the Jiaolong Assault Team?
While conducting their patrol in the Red Sea, the Chinese Navy receives an urgent distress signal indicating that local pirates are boarding a cargo ship, threatening the safety of Chinese passengers and crew members. In response, they deploy the 8-member Jiaolong Assault Team to serve as their forward unit, tasked with slowing down the pirates’ advance until heavily armed naval vessels can reach the location. With the aid of a helicopter and a skilled sniper from their team, they make commendable strides in stabilizing the dire situation while they wait for the main fleet to arrive.
However, amidst the operation, the sniper sustains a devastating spinal injury due to enemy gunfire and requires replacement. Upon the arrival of the main fleet, the assault team is lauded for their efforts.
As tensions escalate following instability in one of the local governments along the Red Sea, the decision is made to evacuate Chinese personnel and workers from the area. Amid this unrest, marked by threats from local terrorist groups, the Jiaolong Assault Team is once again called into action to safely transport Chinese citizens aboard the naval vessels anchored nearby. Complicating matters, a journalist working in the region uncovers intelligence about the local terrorist factions planning to disrupt cooperation with the Chinese by employing various military strategies. Disturbingly, they have devised plans to use ‘yellow cake’ materials to create a dirty bomb.
Faced with insufficient support from the tumultuous local government, the Jiaolong Assault Team must execute a risky evacuation plan, transporting civilians 75 miles away using only a jeep convoy. Unfortunately, they soon encounter an ambush orchestrated by terrorists, resulting in significant casualties following a mortar attack on their convoy. To thwart the terrorists’ hold, the assault team resolves to attack a heavily fortified outpost defended by approximately 150 terrorists, their leader, and an array of mechanized artillery and tanks.
Complicating the assault is a highly-trained terrorist sniper who inflicts severe setbacks on the rescue mission initiated by the assault unit. Fortunately, the new sniper replacement proves his mettle by eliminating the enemy sniper. Tragically, nearly the entire Jiaolong Assault Team is lost in action, yet they manage to accomplish their mission: preventing the terrorists from assembling a dirty bomb and successfully rescuing innocent Chinese hostages being held against their will.
Once back aboard the Chinese fleet, the fallen soldiers are honored for their remarkable bravery and sacrifice during such fierce confrontations.
