During a cataclysmic event dubbed the Great World Blaze, widespread spontaneous human combustions led to catastrophic fires that resulted in the loss of half the global population. In the aftermath of this upheaval, certain individuals emerged with the extraordinary ability to generate fire, earning the name Burnish. Fast forward thirty years, we find ourselves in the bustling city of Promepolis, where Galo Thymos serves as a dedicated member of the firefighting unit known as Burning Rescue. This elite group responds to emergency situations involving the Mad Burnish, a faction of radical Burnish deemed terrorists by society.

As Galo confronts and defeats members of the Mad Burnish, his path dangerously intertwines with their charismatic leader, Lio Fotia. However, all is not as it seems. The Freeze Force, a law enforcement entity overseen by the city’s powerful governor, Kray Foresight, captures Lio and his followers. But in an unforeseen twist, Lio and the other prisoners manage to escape to a hidden cave near a frozen lake. There, Galo witnesses Lio’s desperate attempt to revive a mortally wounded Burnish using a forbidden mouth-to-mouth flame transfer technique. In a moment of vulnerability, Lio reveals a shocking truth: Kray is conducting horrific experiments on the Burnish, something Galo cannot fathom as he once idolized Kray after being saved from a fire in his youth.

The intrigue deepens when Galo confronts Kray, who chillingly announces the impending destruction of Earth due to uncontrollable magma surging from its core. Here, Kray reveals that the immense power of the Burnish could be harnessed to create a warp drive designed for an exodus of select humans from the doomed planet. Galo, standing firm against this heinous plan, finds himself imprisoned for treason. Meanwhile, the Freeze Force succeeds in capturing nearly all Burnish, save for Lio, who is sent deep into a volcano by his comrades. Fueled by rage over the oppression faced by his kind, Lio transforms into a giant flaming dragon, intent on incinerating the city in confrontation with Kray.

In a gripping turn of events, Galo escapes incarceration and, with the aid of his team at Burning Rescue, intervenes just in time. They work together to subdue Lio’s flares long enough for Galo’s ally, Aina Ardebit, to transport them to the frozen lake. The ensuing chaos exposes a hidden laboratory operated by a hologram of Deus Prometh, a scientist murdered by Kray. Deus unveils the chilling connection between the Burnish and a race of interdimensional flame beings known as the Promare, who found refuge in Earth’s core following a dimensional rift before the Great World Blaze. He elucidates how the magma surge is a direct consequence of these beings’ suffering, exacerbated by Kray’s cruel experiments and theft of technology.

In a breathtaking showdown, Galo and Lio pilot a mech known as Deus X Machina back to Promepolis to confront Kray. Their climactic battle leads to the destruction of both the ship and the warp drive. However, Kray reveals an even darker secret: he himself is a Burnish and had orchestrated the fire that saved Galo, all as part of a manipulative scheme to rise to power while secretly hoping Galo would perish in the line of duty. In a shocking and tragic exchange, Kray seemingly kills Galo and seizes Lio to exploit him for the warp drive’s energy.

Yet, in a twist of fate, Lio’s flames miraculously revive Galo. Using a drill designed by Prometh, Galo reaches the core just in time to confront and defeat Kray, channeling Lio’s energy in a stunning victory. As the warp drive threatens to claim Lio’s life, Galo employs the mouth-to-mouth method to save him once again.

Embracing their newfound strengths, Lio persuades Galo to merge the drive with the mecha to safeguard life on Earth. In a breathtaking climax, the Promare engulf the surface, allowing them to burn harmlessly, fulfilling their innate urge while simultaneously closing the rift in the core. With this closure, the Burnish revert to their human forms, and Galo and Lio stand united, resolute in their determination to rebuild their world together, setting the stage for a new dawn amidst the ashes of catastrophe.
