Who plays the role of Frank Castle in the movie?
Frank Castle, portrayed by Ray Stevenson, has been embodying the Punisher for five intense years. His latest venture leads him to crash a lavish gathering hosted by mob boss Gaitano Cesare. Here, he finds that Cesare’s second-in-command, Billy, has been informed that Crystu is set to deliver a biological weapon shipment into New York, with a tempting offer of $10 million for its safe passage. Displeased with the deal, Cesare’s rejection ignites Billy’s anger, who believes he deserves more recognition within the cartel. In a fierce onslaught, Castle takes out nearly everyone at the party, but Billy manages to slip away.
Now going by the moniker “Jigsaw,” Billy, played by Dominic West, retreats to his recycling plant, where Detectives Martin Soap and Saffiotti are on his trail. Upon learning of Castle’s alarming rampage, they alert him and the race is on. After infiltrating Jigsaw’s hideout, a pulsating shootout ensues, and Castle unmercifully dispatches Billy into a glass-crushing machine, which horrifically disfigures him. His newfound identity, marked by stitches that resemble puzzle pieces, sets him on a path of vengeance and chaos.
Meanwhile, Agent Paul Budiansky, played by Colin Salmon, steps into the fray, joining the NYPD’s “Punisher Task Force” with a mission to capture Castle, who is now grappling with guilt over the accidental death of undercover agent Nicky Donatelli. In a turn of fate, Castle discovers that Donatelli was actually an undercover cop, igniting his conflict with wanting to retire from his vigilante ways. Instead, he leans on his armorer, Microchip, impelled by the warning that Jigsaw will seek revenge on Donatelli’s family.
Desperation mounts as Jigsaw, along with his unhinged brother “Loony Bin Jim,” infiltrates the Donatelli residence, taking Angela, Donatelli’s wife played by Julie Benz, and their daughter Grace hostage. As tensions rise, Castle relentlessly hunts down Jigsaw’s associates to rescue the family while navigating his own conflicted emotions about justice and morality.
In a twist of fate, Budiansky finds himself ensnared by Jigsaw’s thugs during a critical moment while trying to ensure the safety of the Donatellis. The daring showdown escalates as Jigsaw and his brother trade dangerous deals for immunity with the FBI while threatening Castle’s loved ones.
As Castle confronts Jigsaw in a climactic face-off, his choices boil down to life or death among the hostages and his own moral compass. In a desperate battle, Castle sacrifices his partner Micro to save Grace, which ultimately leads to a furious confrontation against Jigsaw. Castle’s expression of wrath culminates in him brutally ending Jigsaw’s reign of terror, leaving him to face the flames of his catastrophic choices. As the chaos settles, Angela confronts her sorrow, offering forgiveness to Castle, who now faces an uncertain future alongside his ally Soap, still wrestling with his vigilante legacy amidst New York’s criminal underbelly.
