Within the breathtaking grasslands of East Africa, we follow the gripping journey of a fierce mercenary named Samantha “Sam” O’Hara, who is commanding a high-stakes mission alongside a diverse team of multinational mercenaries. This dedicated crew features the loyal yet resilient Elijah Dekker, the spirited Joey Kasinski, the confrontational Mike Barasa, the skilled Bo Yinn, and the complex figure of Pata, a former jihadist and member of the Masaai tribe. Their objective is to execute a dangerous rescue mission aimed at saving Asilia Wilson, the teenage daughter of a local governor, who has been forcibly kidnapped alongside her classmates Chloe and Tessa by the ruthless terrorist leader, Zalaam, who is affiliated with the notorious al-Shabaab group.

As the mission unfolds, Sam makes a bold choice, opting to risk the operation by attempting to rescue the other two girls as well, showcasing her commitment to their safety. The group’s endeavor may initially appear successful, but it hits severe turbulence as their extraction helicopter is taken down by a devastating RPG. In a heart-pounding chase across the plains, Sam’s team is relentlessly pursued by Zalaam’s militia, leading to a harrowing gunfight on the cliffs that costs many mercenaries their lives. Amid the chaos, the surviving members leap into the river below, but not without sacrificing much of their valuable equipment, including their crucial satphone.

After regaining their composure on the shore, tragedy strikes when Chloe is violently killed by a lurking crocodile, a grim reminder of the peril surrounding them. Undeterred, Sam pushes the remaining team to advance towards a location where they can establish contact with their employers for a new extraction plan. Their path eventually brings them to an eerie, abandoned game farm that had once been a haven for poachers involved in the illegal wildlife trade. As night descends, the group finds themselves under the watchful eye of a menacing lioness, a predatory force that had previously decimated the farm’s original occupants after breaking free from captivity.

The tension escalates as the lioness strikes first, claiming Elijah’s life, leaving Bo severely injured, and thrusting Sam and Joey into a desperate scramble to locate the farm’s generator and call for help. In a twist of fate, while they manage to restore power, Barasa meets a horrific end at the jaws of the lioness while bravely diverting attention away from the others. As they await dawn for a new helicopter pickup, Pata ominously warns the group that Zalaam will not allow Asilia to slip away so easily due to the significance she represents to her father.

Confessions come forth as Pata reveals his troubled past, recounting the disturbing tale of how his family fell victim to terrorist violence after he deserted his militant affiliation, a revelation that leaves Tessa in shock. As events spiral out of control, Joey encounters a ferocious attack from the lioness, only for the fierce clash to be interrupted by the arrival of Zalaam’s men, who momentarily scare off the predator. The ensuing battle sees Sam and Pata engage in combat that shifts the tide against Zalaam’s forces. Remarkably, Asilia finds her inner strength to fight back, taking down one of the assailants. A dramatic confrontation occurs between Pata and Zalaam’s second-in-command, Masakh, the man responsible for his family’s demise. With Sam’s assistance, vengeance is finally achieved, but Pata pays the ultimate price just as the group faces renewed assaults from the terrorists.

In a heartbreaking scene, Bo succumbs to his injuries while Joey remains at his side, forever changed by the brutality they have witnessed. Zalaam, in a moment of chaotic tension, captures Tessa, but Sam utilizes her cunning to trade Tessa’s life for Asilia, luring Zalaam into a trap within the barn where the fierce lioness is lurking. Meanwhile, Joey makes a chilling discovery of a pair of lion cubs in another section of the compound. The climax unfolds as the lioness exacts her own brand of justice, mauling Zalaam to his death before unexpectedly turning her attention to Sam. However, a sentimental moment arises as the lioness spares Sam upon hearing the innocent cries of the lion cubs.

As the first light of dawn breaks, a profound sense of survival fills the air as Sam, Joey, and the two girls make their way towards the incoming helicopter, leaving behind the chaos with the majestic lions fading into the background. In a reflective post-script, the film underscores the dire issue of illegal lion farms, urging for awareness and action against such inhumane practices.
