Fontaine is a drug dealer residing in a suburban neighborhood known as the Glen. One fateful night, after collecting payment from his client, Slick Charles, Fontaine meets his untimely demise at the hands of a rival drug dealer named Isaac. To everyone’s surprise, the very next morning, Slick is astounded to see Fontaine return, seemingly alive and completely unaware of the previous night’s tragic events. Teaming up with Slick and the sex worker Yo-Yo to confirm Slick’s shocking claims, they find themselves in a whirlwind of confusion.
As Fontaine struggles to piece together the chaos, recollections of a man bleeding from a gunshot wound, who was abducted in a black SUV, flood back. This prompts the trio to investigate the vehicle parked outside a nearby house. Upon entering, they stumble upon an elevator that leads them to an underground laboratory. Here, they encounter a white scientist sporting an afro, who reveals that the operation they have unwittingly uncovered has spiraled out of control. In a bizarre twist of fate, Slick accidentally ends the scientist’s life after mistaking a mysterious white powder for cocaine, resulting in uncontrollable laughter. Just as they attempt to leave, the trio discovers a lifeless body resembling Fontaine lying on a table.
The following morning brings a shocking revelation: the entrance to the lab has vanished. In search of answers, they head to a local fried chicken restaurant where the other diners are laughing uncontrollably, leading Slick to realize that their food contains the same substance he consumed earlier. In a move to gather more intel, Yo-Yo charms the restaurant’s manager, discovering that the entire Glen neighborhood is under surveillance, and the same substance is also being infused into grape drinks and hair products.
Their investigation leads them to a hidden elevator within a church altar, descending into a sprawling underground facility that spans the entire Glen area. Here, they witness disturbing behavioral experiments conducted on Black residents, including clones of Fontaine and Slick. In a frantic attempt to escape after triggering an alarm, they band together and flee through a strip club. However, they soon find themselves confronting a DJ who manipulates the clubgoers with a trance-inducing song, forcing them to pursue the trio.
The chaos reaches new heights when a man named Nixon, alongside a clone of Fontaine named Chester, intervenes. Nixon reveals the sinister truth: scientists are performing experiments on impoverished, predominantly Black populations in the Glen, all in the name of achieving peace in America unnoticed. With a display of power, Nixon uses a trigger word that leaves the crowd, minus Yo-Yo, under his control, posing a grave danger to everyone involved.
Determined to save Yo-Yo after her identity is revealed and she is apprehended by Nixon, Fontaine hatches a daring plan with Slick and Isaac. To go undercover, Fontaine fakes his death, allowing Slick and Isaac to storm the lab with a wave of residents from the Glen rallying behind them. They liberate the Black individuals subjected to experimentation, including the clones, just as Yo-Yo manages to escape and reunite with Slick.
However, Fontaine’s journey takes a shocking turn when Chester overpowers him and brings him before the original Fontaine, who reveals the tragic reasons behind the cloning and manipulation. Explaining the scientists’ motives to create “peace” through mind control and racial assimilation, the original Fontaine shares his painful backstory, which began with the racially motivated murder of his younger brother. The chilling notion that the country would benefit more from assimilation rather than annihilation haunts Fontaine.
In a gripping climax, Fontaine flees this moral abyss, using Nixon’s trigger word on Chester, forcing him to shoot the original Fontaine. Meanwhile, Yo-Yo faces off with Nixon, only to have Slick save the day by ending Nixon’s life. The next moment, the facility’s entrance to the church bursts open, releasing the clones into the public, thereby exposing the entire clandestine operation.
With a new purpose and determined to further expose this unsettling truth, the trio sets their sights on Memphis. As they embark on this mission, a man named Tyrone, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Fontaine and shares a similar lifestyle, is seen watching TV with friends in Los Angeles, where one of Fontaine’s clones emerges on the news, hinting at a far-reaching conspiracy.
