An infant Branch and his four older brothers—John Dory, Spruce, Clay, and Floyd—form a boyband known as BroZone. However, their differing personalities lead to a breakdown in communication, crippling their ability to create the “Perfect Family Harmony”. Without this harmony, which is essential for Trolls to thrive, the brothers’ ego clashes result in a split, leaving Branch to be raised by their grandmother, Rosiepuff.

Fast forward to the present day, Branch and Poppy find themselves at the wedding of Bridget and Gristle in Bergen Town, just a month after averting the dreaded Rockpocalypse. Their celebrations are cut short when John Dory arrives with startling news: Branch’s beloved brother Floyd has been captured by Velvet and Veneer, two teenagers from Mount Rageon who are determined to achieve pop stardom. Having imprisoned Floyd in a diamond perfume bottle to siphon off his essence for better singing—risking his life in the process—the two villainous teens leave Branch with no choice. He reluctantly agrees to heed John Dory’s call for help to reunite with their brothers and rescue Floyd. Accompanied by Poppy and Tiny Diamond, they embark on an unexpected adventure in John Dory’s quirky, armadillo-shaped van affectionately named Rhonda.

Their first stop is Vacay Island, where they encounter Spruce, who has reinvented himself as Bruce and has started a family of his own. Though initially hesitant to help, Bruce’s wife and thirteen children persuade him to join the mission. Next, they trace Clay to an abandoned miniature golf course inhabited by a secret colony of Pop Trolls, unaware that the Bergens are no longer their foes after fleeing the final Trollstice. In a twist of fate, Viva, the leader of this hidden troll community, turns out to be Poppy’s long-lost sister. While Poppy feels elated to find her sister, their reunion turns sour when Viva refuses to accept the changed dynamics between their communities, leading to a strained parting after a near escape facilitated by Clay.

Meanwhile, Velvet and Veneer are relentless in draining Floyd’s essence. Velvet reveals her deceitful plot, including sending a forged note to John Dory, luring him and the others into a trap, while Crimp, their assistant, perfects a suit designed to amplify their essence extraction. As the chase propels them toward Mount Rageous, the brothers once again suffer from internal strife, failing to synchronize into their Perfect Family Harmony. In a moment of frustration, Branch reminds his siblings of the loneliness he has faced since their grandmother’s demise, igniting a sense of urgency to rectify their fractured dynamic.

As they finally locate Floyd, trouble escalates when John Dory, Clay, and Bruce are apprehended by Velvet and Veneer. In a race against time, Branch and Poppy confront the scheming duo amidst a crowd of fans, prompting a high-speed chase that sees Velvet and Veneer leveraging their newly invented suits to extract magic from Branch’s brothers for their performance.

Though faced with despair as Floyd nears the brink of being permanently drained, Branch rallies his brothers, highlighting the importance of teamwork over personal pride. Together with Poppy and Viva, they execute the Perfect Family Harmony, breaking free from captivity just in the nick of time to revive Floyd. In an unexpected turn, Veneer, harboring doubts about their plans, confesses everything, resulting in their arrest.

Upon returning to Vacay Island, the Trolls witness a triumphant comeback concert for BroZone, now joined by Kismet, another band with history related to Branch. In a heartwarming gesture, Poppy and Viva are welcomed as honorary members of BroZone, symbolizing their united front as a family once more.
