In the year 2031, humanity establishes its first colony on Mars. By 2042, the formation of the Alliance, bolstered by quantum propulsion technology, enables exploration beyond our solar system. However, by 2281, the Mars colony faces failure, and the Alliance takes control of three colonies: Earth, Zafdie, and Ellora. Tensions escalate in 2519 when Zafdie attempts to secede; in a brutal response, James Ford (Bruce Willis), known as the Blood General, unleashes a devastating Q-bomb, resulting in the loss of 70 million lives. Horrified by Ford’s actions, Dr. Lea Goss (Perrey Reeves), his romantic partner, leaves him, leading to his dishonorable discharge.
The new threat arises from an invasive alien species known as the Sigea, capable of parasitically infecting and controlling their hosts through a black fluid that converts them into agents operating under a hive mind.
By 2524, the Vander Mining Corp stationed on planet 4217LYA reports an alien encounter to the Alliance. General Eron Ryle (Frank Grillo) receives the alarming news and calls on Dr. Goss and Ford to address this emerging threat. Meanwhile, at a local bar, Dash (Corey Large) meets with Ford for a job, only to find themselves embroiled in a conflict when local civilians confront the Blood General. Commander Marcus Bleck (Costas Mandylor) arrives and insists on Ford’s presence, promising reinstatement if he complies.
At McMillian Airfield, Ford and Dash convene with Dr. Goss and Ryle to discuss the troubling situation arising from the Heracles System. The survivors of the Vander mining operation, now under Sigea control, launch an assault, resulting in a fierce battle that claims 53 lives. Declared an attack on humanity, the Alliance initiates Operation: Cosmic Sin, deploying Ford, Ryle, Goss, Braxton Ryle (Brandon Thomas Lee), Bleck, Dash, and Fiona Ardene (Adelaide Kane) to Ellora via Quantum Jump Gate to confront the Sigea.
As they enter Ellora, Ryle’s suit sustains damage, leading the team to believe he has perished. Ford and Goss become separated from the group, and Bleck suffers mortal injuries shortly after making contact with the surface. Amidst fierce combat, local Elloran survivors join their fight, led by Sol Cantos (C.J. Perry). They rendezvous at the Alliance outpost, where they learn of the Sigea’s methods of control. Ford discovers Bleck in dire condition and ultimately chooses to euthanize him to ease his suffering.
In a critical meeting, the remaining soldiers discuss their strategy. Ardene proposes that if they can restore the orbital cannon, they may launch the Q-bomb into space to collapse the gateway and permanently seal off the Sigea. While this plan forms, Ryle manages to reach Ardene through communications, offering to assist with detonation despite being trapped in space.
The Sigea, aware of the survivors’ location, converge on the outpost. Tragically, Goss falls victim to capture and infection, transforming into a Sigea agent. She gives the group an ultimatum to surrender, which they resolutely refuse. As a final stand ensues, Ford attaches himself to a Sigea ship, following Goss to the gateway. Confronting her, she chillingly asserts that true peace will never be attained. Ford is ultimately repelled back while Goss drifts through the gate.
Meanwhile, Braxton finds Ryle preparing for self-sacrifice to close the gateway. As they fire the cannon, Braxton clutches Ardene’s hand, launching the bomb. Ryle’s destruction obliterates the gateway, while the Q-bomb crosses into Sigea space, opening a black hole that consumes the Sigea attack fleet.
Back on Earth, Ford returns to the bar for a drink alongside the survivors from Ellora. Dash, Ardene, Braxton, and Sol Cantos emerge from the chaos, as the Alliance basks in the hard-fought victory that preserves peace. With a resolute shot, Ford leaves the bar — a symbol of both loss and resilience.
