Plot Summary

Tomás, a charmingly reckless bachelor with a penchant for womanizing and a career in advertising, finds himself entangled in romantic affairs while juggling his professional life. He is involved with his boss, Gloria, and after a visit to his doctor and neighbor, Mateo, he becomes captivated by the new nurse, Silvia. However, when Silvia learns about Tomás’s affair with Gloria, she takes drastic action by falsifying his blood test results, leading him to believe he is diagnosed with AIDS.

At the same time, Tomás’s heart is conflicted as he also harbors feelings for Clarisa, a flight attendant who is currently engaged to a pilot named Carlos. Overwhelmed by the impending consequences of his supposed diagnosis, he feels unable to pursue any further connection with Clarisa.

In a moment of despair contemplating his life, Tomás considers ending it all. Just then, Clarisa arrives, heartbroken after discovering Carlos in a compromising situation with another woman, and expresses her intent to take her own life as well. United in their sorrow, they decide to go to Torre Latinoamericana and leap from the heights together. Before embarking on this fateful journey, Tomás leaves a heartfelt voice message for Mateo.

Meanwhile, at a party, Mateo receives Tomás’s message and promptly gathers a group of friends, including his wife Teresa, Carlos, and Silvia, to rush to the tower and stop their friend from taking such a drastic step.

At the top of the tower, Tomás confesses to Clarisa that he loves her but believes he cannot pursue a future due to his misdiagnosis. However, in the face of mortality, Clarisa argues that the weight of their predicament renders their circumstances unimportant, leading the two to share a passionate encounter. As they ascend the emergency stairs, Silvia calls out that the blood test was actually negative. With renewed hope, Tomás and Clarisa reconsider their paths and contemplate the possibility of marriage, instead of jumping into the unknown.
