Avan Jogia

Avan Tudor Jogia, known professionally as Avan Jogia, first gained recognition portraying Danny Araujo in the television film 'A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story' in 2006. Following a move to the United States in his late teens, he acquired roles in various television series such as 'Caprica' (2009–2010). Jogia's breakthrough came from his role as Beck Oliver in the Nickelodeon sitcom 'Victorious' (2010–2013). His rise to prominence surged with roles in 'Twisted' (2013), 'Tut' (2015), 'Ghost Wars' (2017–2018), and 'Now Apocalypse' (2019). His numerous credits also span television and cinema, even culminating to a directorial debut in 2011 with the short film 'Alex'. Furthermore, he plays Leon S. Kennedy in 2021's 'Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.' In 2011, Jogia co-founded the LGBT online organization Straight But Not Narrow. As an author, he published his first book, 'Mixed Feelings' in 2019, a amalgamation of short stories and poems about multiracial identity, with all illustrations hand painted by him. He also released a second book of poetry, 'Autopsy(Of an Ex-Teen Heartthrob) : Poems of Love, Rage, Sex and Sadness' was released in 2025. Jogia and his brother Ketan constitute the band 'Saint Ivory', releasing a self-titled album to complement 'Mixed Feelings'.
