Bill Hader

William Thomas Hader Jr., better known as Bill Hader, is a renowned American actor, comedian, writer, producer, and director. He rose to prominence during his eight-year tenure as a cast member on the long-standing NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 2005 to 2013, earning numerous awards and nominations. Hader's notable performance includes playing Stefon Meyers, a flamboyant New York City nightclub guide, on Weekend Update segments. He further cemented his reputation in the television industry by co-creating the HBO dark comedy series Barry (2018–2023), where he played the title role, served as a producer, writer, and director. The series was highly appreciated, earning him eight Emmy nominations. Hader's voice acting career includes leading and supporting characters in several popular franchises, including Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Inside Out, and Toy Story 4. His screen performances feature both supporting and leading roles in numerous well-received films. Hader's early life was marked by his love for movies and comedy; he grew up creating short films and watching British comedy, and films of Woody Allen and Mel Brooks. He first gained industry experience as a production assistant before moving into comedy. It was at Second City, an improvisational comedy enterprise, where Hader formed a sketch comedy group. His impressive performances caught the attention of notable figures in the industry, eventually leading to his invitation to audition for Saturday Night Live. As a versatile talent, Hader not only starred in SNL but also contributed as a writer. His post-SNL career includes roles in the IFC mockumentary comedy series Documentary Now!, the 2019 supernatural horror film It: Chapter Two, and voicing the titular character in the animated remake of The Cat in the Hat.
