Born as **Brianne Sidonie Desaulniers** on October 1, 1989, in Sacramento, California, **Brie Larson** is a renowned American actress and filmmaker known for her dynamic roles in independent films and blockbusters. She earned her professional name from her French-Canadian father's difficulty pronouncing 'Desaulniers'. Playing supporting roles in comedies as a teenager, she expanded to more prominent roles and earned numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Primetime Emmy Award. Not only is she a successful actress, but Larson is quite influential, being named among Time magazine's 100 most influential people in the world in 2019. At age six, Larson was the youngest student admitted into a training program at the American Conservatory Theater. She began her acting career in 1998 with a comedy sketch on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She then appeared in the 2001 sitcom Raising Dad and briefly pursued a music career, releasing the album Finally Out of P.E. in 2005. In addition to acting and music, Larson has made significant strides behind the camera, co-writing and co-directing two short films, and making her feature film directorial debut with the independent comedy-drama Unicorn Store (2017). A staunch advocate for gender equality and sexual assault survivors, Larson frequently voices her opinions on social and political issues. Even today, her career continues to flourish, with her taking on multiple demanding and diverse roles in cinema.
