Denis O'Hare

Denis Patrick Seamus O'Hare (born January 17, 1962) is an acclaimed American actor, best known for his award-winning performances in Take Me Out and Sweet Charity, and memorable roles in HBO's True Blood and FX series American Horror Story. Born in Kansas City, he grew up in Detroit and took his first steps into the world of theater at a local community production. In 1980, he moved to Chicago to pursue his passion for theater at Northwestern University. His performances in Richard Greenberg's Take Me Out earned him a Tony Award, while his role as Oscar Lindquist brought him a 2005 Drama Desk Award. Over the years, O'Hare has demonstrated versatility showcasing his talent in various performances, including 21 Grams, Garden State, Michael Clayton, Charlie Wilson's War, and Changeling. In 2008, his portrayal of Phillip Steele in a television biopic on Quentin Crisp entitled An Englishman in New York secured his position among respected actors. He also starred in HBO's True Blood as Russell Edgington and took on recurring roles in The Good Wife and The Good Fight. O'Hare continually invigorates the screen with his performances, most recently captivating audiences in American Horror Story: Double Feature as Provincetown resident, Holden Vaughn.
