Dominic Haakon Myrtvedt Purcell is an accomplished Australian actor, famously known for his distinct roles in multiple television series. Born in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England, he moved to Sydney, Australia with his family at a young age. His prominent acting career began from 1991 and has been thriving till date. Purcell's most notable performances include characters like Lincoln Burrows from Fox's Prison Break (2005–2009; 2017), Mick Rory / Heat Wave in The CW's The Flash (2014–2016) and Legends of Tomorrow (2016–2021), and as Drake / Dracula in Blade: Trinity (2004).

In addition to his famous roles, Purcell also portrayed Lewis "Lew" Brookbank in the 2004 film Three Way. His acting education was pursued from the Australian Theatre for Young People and the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, this training ground saw him studying with acclaimed actor Hugh Jackman. Off-set, Purcell was married twice and is a father to four children. In 2016, he endured severe injuries on set in Morocco when a misplaced iron bar used as a Prison Break season 5 set piece fell on his head. After a significant emergency treatment, he was back on his feet continuing his promising career.
