**Emilia Isobel Euphemia Rose Clarke MBE (born 23 October 1986)** is a British actress who is most renowned for her portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO series Game of Thrones, a role for which she received four Primetime Emmy Award nominations. Other notable roles include Sarah Connor in Terminator: Genisys and Qi'ra in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Apart from films, she has worked in television and theatre, making her Broadway debut as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's and playing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe miniseries, Secret Invasion. Clarke was born and raised in London and shows great affection for her native city. Her love for acting was ignited at the age of three after watching a production of Show Boat. She studied at Drama Centre London and began her career with a cameo in the BBC One soap, Doctors at the age of 22. Her Indian heritage plays a significant role in shaping her identity and she credits it for her family's 'history of fighters.' She received her first professional breakthrough in the television film Triassic Attack (2010), which despite receiving negative reviews, led to Clarke being tipped as a 'UK Star of Yesterday' by Screen International. Her experience spans over a decade, during which she has demonstrated great versatility by working in different genres and even publishing comic books.
