In a distant future, a mercenary named Toorop finds himself embroiled in a deadly mission when he accepts a job from the ruthless Russian mobster, Gorsky. His task is to transport a young girl known as Aurora ([Mélanie Thierry]) from a secluded convent in Mongolia to the bustling streets of New York City. To facilitate this journey, Gorsky equips Toorop with an array of weapons and a special UN passport that must be surgically implanted into his neck.

Joined by Aurora and her enigmatic guardian, Sister Rebeka, played by [Michelle Yeoh], they embark on a treacherous trek across war-torn Russia, navigating through cities that have become overrun with violence and chaos. As they encounter various dangers, including being pursued by mercenaries claiming ties to Aurora’s purportedly deceased father, the situation grows increasingly dire. The psychological strain on Aurora causes her to exhibit unexplainable behavior, including a terrifying moment where she panics and flees a crowded train station mere seconds before it is bombed.

Their harrowing journey continues as they find passage on a crowded submarine heading to Canada. Tensions rise when the submarine’s crew is forced to leave behind refugees, leading to a heartbreaking sacrifice that deeply unsettles Aurora, who inexplicably masters the operations of the decades-old vessel despite never having learned about it before.

The weight of her extraordinary abilities becomes clearer to Sister Rebeka, who shares insights about Aurora’s bizarre talents — like her ability to speak nineteen languages by the age of two. However, everything changed after a fateful meeting with a Noelite doctor who administered a mysterious pill and foretold her future path to America.

Upon their arrival in New York, the group’s world shatters as they learn about the convent’s destruction orchestrated by Gorsky, who had concealed a tracking device in Toorop’s passport prior to their arrival. A chilling twist occurs when the doctor reappears, leading to Aurora revealing her pregnancy with twins, a shocking declaration coming from a seemingly untouched girl.

As danger lurks nearby, Toorop witnesses Gorsky’s mercenaries closing in on them, armed and ready for confrontation. When the High Priestess of the Noelites demands Aurora’s delivery, Toorop defies them, leading to a desperate battle for survival. However, tragedy strikes when Rebeka is killed defending the two, and a missile is launched at Toorop, resulting in a catastrophic explosion after Aurora shoots him, proclaiming, > “I need you to live.”

Miraculously, Dr. Arthur Darquandier revives Toorop after he has been clinically dead for two hours, using groundbreaking medical enhancements to forge part of his body anew. In a shocking revelation, he discloses that Aurora was genetically engineered with enhanced capabilities while still in the womb, and the Noelites aimed to use her as a symbolic figure for their religion.

Dr. Darquandier encourages Toorop to follow Aurora’s guidance to “Go Home,” setting him on a path to find her before the Noelites can. As Toorop reaches a safe haven, he learns the concealed location of his family’s property, and the race to secure their future intensifies. The High Priestess, intent on securing Aurora, meets a tragic end when her past catches up with her.

The climax reaches a fever pitch when Toorop, Aurora, and their small group face the relentless pursuit of Noelites, culminating in a deadly showdown that leaves only a few survivors. In a poignant finale, Aurora gives birth to twins, revealing Toorop as their father just before her heartbreaking demise. Left to navigate the challenges of parenthood alone, Toorop dedicates himself to raising the children, embodying the promise of a new legacy amidst a world rife with danger and uncertainty.
