Who is the lead character in 'Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles'?
In this engaging sequel, Michael “Crocodile” Dundee, portrayed by Paul Hogan, has traded his thrilling crocodile-catching adventures for a more settled life in the Australian outback alongside his wife, Sue Charlton, played by Linda Kozlowski, and their spirited young son, Mikey. Their tranquil life takes an unexpected turn when Sue is offered a prestigious role as the Los Angeles bureau chief at her father’s newspaper, which leads this unlikely trio to embark on a transpacific journey to the sunny shores of California.
Upon their arrival in the United States, both Mick and Mikey find themselves grappling with a series of cultural mishaps that leave them both amused and bewildered. Embracing his curiosity, the resourceful Dundee steps into the role of an amateur detective, investigating the mysterious death of his wife’s predecessor at the newspaper. Meanwhile, young Mikey captures the attention of his new classmates and teacher with his impressive outback survival skills. As Mick immerses himself deeper into the investigation, he reluctantly seeks the assistance of Jacko, a rival survivalist, to look after Mikey, which unexpectedly sparks a romance between Jacko and Mikey’s teacher.
As the plot thickens, it is revealed that the late reporter had been delving into the unscrupulous dealings of a film studio preparing to release a sequel to the action-packed Lethal Agent franchise. Mick grows increasingly suspicious when paintings from Southern Europe are mysteriously brought onto the set. Initially believing he has uncovered a drug smuggling operation, Dundee’s investigation takes a twist as he discovers the pieces are actually stolen masterpieces, long thought lost during the Yugoslavian civil wars. The dubious plan involves using these valuable artworks as props in the film, with the intention of creating the illusion of their destruction by fire, only to replace them with counterfeit duplicates afterward.
Fueled by the desire to recover one of the notable paintings as evidence, Mick, Sue, and Jacko find themselves in a showdown against the ruthless studio director and his henchmen. Utilizing their quick wit and the studio’s props, along with the help of a trio of impressive lions brought in for filming, Dundee and Sue cleverly outsmart their foes. Ultimately, they solve the case and return to Australia, where they finally get the chance to celebrate their love by holding an official wedding ceremony.
