The curtain rises on Roxanne (Haley Bennett), a spirited young woman, as she readies herself for an evening at the theater with the self-assured Duke De Guiche (Ben Mendelsohn). As they embark on their night, Roxanne’s heart is consumed by her yearning for true love—an affection that would let her surrender on her own terms.
