When rescue helicopters finally appear at dawn—having located Patton and McKenna on the raft Slim had hoped to destroy—the island’s hidden power struggles erupt anew. Andreas, who chose to hide rather than rejoin Slim and the others, faces a harsh moment of reckoning as the remaining six survivors resort to a lie, claiming that no one else is left on the island in order to sentence him to death.
