As Nick Brady (Josh Hutcherson) and his brother navigate the perilous terrain of Colombia, they unexpectedly meet Maria, a young woman entangled in the complex web of her infamous uncle, Pablo Escobar. The dangerous allure surrounding Escobar’s kingdom constantly reminds both Nick and Maria of the fragile existence they lead. Driven by a shared desire for freedom, they enlist the help of Nick’s brother, along with his wife and child, to escape the dangerous landscape.

Their pursuit of liberation takes a violent turn when Pablo, summoning his most trusted associates, including Nick, reveals an unsettling truth: he made a pact with the Colombian government, dooming himself to a lengthy imprisonment. With a cold resolve, Escobar instructs his loyal followers to conceal his valuable assets in remote caves, ensuring that they remain untouched during his time behind bars.

Nick’s mission is straightforward yet perilous—he is to meet a guide, travel to a specified cave, and stash the boxes he received. Following this, he must seal the entrance with a detonation, completing Escobar’s orders. However, Pablo’s chilling final demand for Nick to eliminate the guide takes an unexpected twist when the young lad proves to be just fifteen years old. Caught between his conscience and loyalty, Nick’s hesitation to follow through on Escobar’s command casts him into the dark corners of the drug lord’s deadly machinations.

Now isolated in a town riddled with merciless militia, corrupt officials, and fierce mercenaries, Nick narrowly escapes death as he strives to reunite with Maria at the Canadian consulate. In a desperate call to his brother’s home, he sends a heartfelt warning, only to discover it arrives too late; Escobar’s henchmen have brutally taken his brother’s life, and his family faces a grim fate.

In a fierce confrontation against two of Escobar’s gunmen, Nick emerges from the chaos, though a bullet wound marks his victory. His heart longs to unite with Maria, but as they finally locate each other outside the consulate, destiny plays a cruel hand. With his life draining away, Nick leaves Maria to navigate an uncertain path ahead, her pleas for help thwarted by Escobar’s unyielding operatives.
