What dangerous location does Luo Feng and his team travel through?

Plot Summary

As the dust settles on the ravaged oil refinery in Iraq, owned by Chinese conglomerate Unicorp, a sense of urgency takes hold. The facility, led by Director of Operations Professor Cheng, has been brutalized by mercenaries under the command of Owen Paddock (Pilou Asbaek). In response, Cheng extends an invitation to private security firms to launch a daring rescue operation and evacuate the civilian employees from the refinery.

Enter “Dragon” Luo Feng (Jackie Chan), a battle-hardened ex-special forces operative who answers Cheng’s call with his private security company. With a convoy of vehicles, Feng navigates the treacherous Highway of Death, accompanied by Cheng’s trusted assistant, Luo Mei (Ma Chunrui). What Feng doesn’t know is that Mei is actually his estranged daughter.

Meanwhile, former US Marine Chris Van Horne (John Cena) and his mercenary brother Henry (Amadeus Serafini) are driven by a personal vendetta. Claiming they’re tracking down the individual responsible for a past attack that left five comrades dead, the brothers launch a surprise assault on Feng’s convoy. Their true motives, however, are far more sinister.

Henry’s ulterior motive is rooted in a desperate need for $100,000 to secure a well in a rural village, which has been struggling without access to clean water. Chris, meanwhile, is enticed by the promise of easy money from Unicorp, who control the vital resource. Owen Paddock, it turns out, is the key player brokering the deal between Chris and Unicorp, casting the Chinese company as the primary antagonist.

As the convoy fends off Henry’s initial attack, Feng discovers that two buses have been kidnapped, including Professor Cheng, who holds the authorization codes for the oil refinery. The situation takes a dire turn when Feng learns that five engineers, including Cheng, have been taken hostage by their captors.

Chris and his brother eventually part ways, with Chris confronting Henry about the true nature of their mission. Owen’s identity as the mastermind behind the operation is finally revealed, explaining why he worked for Unicorp for 16 years without achieving significant rewards – now it’s his time to strike gold.

As Owen reveals his plan to reactivate the refinery and capitalize on the lucrative oil trade, he demands that Chris keep Feng at bay while he deals with Cheng, promising payment for Henry’s debt only after these conditions are met. Infuriated by this ultimatum, Chris storms off, leaving Owen to exact a brutal revenge on Henry for his perceived failure to eliminate Feng.

Meanwhile, Feng tracks down Chris as he traverses the scorching desert landscape in his dune buggy, their paths crossing amidst a backdrop of swirling sandstorms and treacherous terrain. Each party is convinced that the other is responsible for the latest bloodshed: Chris believes Feng gunned down Henry, while Feng attributes Henry’s demise to Chris’s hand.

As tensions escalate, Chris and Feng form an uneasy alliance to take on their common enemy - the French mercenaries who had armed them in the first place but are now working for Owen. This unlikely duo soon discovers that Feng is driven by a desire to protect his village and uncover the truth behind Owen’s sinister motives.

As the stakes grow higher, Feng learns of Chris’s involvement in the kidnapping and realizes that Owen is manipulating events from behind the scenes. With this newfound understanding, Chris confides in Feng that Owen is indeed behind the abduction.

Owen’s ruthless tactics soon come to fruition as he coerces Professor Cheng into cooperating with his plans, sending his henchmen to track down her bag containing vital codes. Unbeknownst to Owen, Mei has been guarding the precious package since its inception, and she finds herself entwined in Chris and Feng’s perilous quest.

The duo soon discovers that the refinery is poised to unleash a massive oil heist upon the coast via an extensive network of underground pipelines, marking the largest such operation in history. In response, Chris and Feng launch a daring assault on the refinery, thwarting Owen’s plans and rescuing Cheng and her son from the clutches of their captor.

As Owen makes his escape with a convoy of gasoline-laden trucks, Chris and Feng pursue him with a jet-powered truck that had previously been employed by Chris to whip up the desert storm. In a heart-pumping car chase, Owen meets his untimely demise. Following this dramatic turn of events, Feng’s team apprehends the mastermind behind the oil heist, while Van Horne mends the well and accepts a new mission with Feng.
