Plot Summary

In this gripping tale, Matilda Lutz (Jen) plays an American socialite who finds herself entangled in a clandestine romance with French millionaire Richard (Kevin Janssens). As they embark on a weekend getaway at Richard’s isolated Moroccan estate, the atmosphere is set for a hedonistic escapade. However, their fun is short-lived, as Stan (Vincent Colombe) and Dimitri (Guillaume Bouchede), two of Richard’s hunting buddies, arrive a day early, shattering Jen’s hopes of keeping her relationship under wraps. Despite this, the group indulges in a night of revelry, with Jen secretly stashing a gift of peyote from Roberto, the helicopter pilot, away for Richard.

The next morning brings a stark contrast to the previous evening’s frivolity. Stan attempts to coerce Jen into an unwanted tryst, citing her supposed advances from the night before. When she resists, he brutally violates her while Dimitri looks on with indifference. Richard returns to the scene, berating Stan and offering Jen a substantial sum to forget the incident. However, when Richard refuses to send Jen packing, she flees into the desert, pursued by the three men who eventually converge at a dead-end cliff. In a chilling twist, Richard feigns a call to his pilot, then pushes Jen off the edge, leaving her impaled on a tree during her fall. She falls unconscious and is abandoned by her attackers, left to face certain death.

Jen’s fate takes a dramatic turn when she awakens to find herself stuck to the burning tree trunk, which she sets ablaze with her lighter. The flames break free, allowing her to escape, albeit with a branch still lodged in her body. As she navigates the desert, Jen finds herself stalked by her tormentors, who have split up to track her down.

One fateful evening, Jen encounters Dimitri urinating by a riverbank and attempts to turn the tables on him with his own shotgun. Unfortunately, it’s not loaded. Dimitri tries to drown her in the water, but she seizes his hunting knife and strikes him twice, blinding him in both eyes. As he succumbs to his injuries in the river, Jen claims his supplies and takes up his knife.

Seeking solace in a nearby cave, Jen uses the peyote to numb her pain before removing the branch from her body and cauterizing the wound with an aluminum beer can, branding herself with the phoenix logo. Haunted by a series of nightmares featuring her tormentors on the hunt, Jen decides to take matters into her own hands and set out to track down her pursuers, hell-bent on revenge.

The day after Dimitri’s untimely demise, Richard tasks Stan with tracking down Jen on a treacherous mountain road. As Stan navigates his SUV through the rugged terrain, he finds himself running on fumes, literally. Out of gas and in full view of his target, Jen seizes the opportunity to exact her revenge, firing a shot that grazes Stan’s shoulder as he attempts to refuel. The ensuing long-range gun battle sees Stan inflict a gruesome wound on Jen’s earlobe, only for her cunning nature to lead him into a trap. With Stan momentarily distracted by a shard of broken glass embedded in his foot, Jen seizes the moment to reclaim Dimitri’s shotgun and claim Stan as her latest victim.

Meanwhile, Richard returns to the scene of the crime, oblivious to the carnage that has unfolded. As he takes a leisurely shower, the sound of shattering glass pierces through the tranquility, signaling Jen’s presence. With his guard dropped, she makes her move, striking Richard in the stomach and sending him reeling. The two engage in a chaotic game of cat-and-mouse around the property, exchanging blows with shotguns as they go. However, Richard’s desperation to take down Jen proves futile when she manages to outmaneuver him, landing a devastating blow that sends him crashing to the ground.

As the dust settles, Jen emerges victorious, her shotgun raised in triumph. With her adversary finally silenced, she surveys the property, her eyes fixed on the distant hum of an approaching helicopter. Her chest heaving with exhaustion, Jen stands tall, her bloody visage illuminated by the fading light of day.
