As the dubious title of the worst coach in sports history weighs heavily on his shoulders, Coach Lambeau Fields (David Koechner) unexpectedly finds himself inspired by the chance to turn his misfortunes around. With encouragement from fellow coach Freddie Wiseman (Carl Weathers), he decides to make one last, desperate attempt for redemption. This leads him to set aside family matters and relocate with his devoted wife, Barb (Melora Hardin), to the charming town of Plainfolk, Texas. There, he eagerly accepts the role of head coach for Heartland State University’s football team, a diverse group of misfits who share his enthusiasm for the sport.
