Royce, played by Adrien Brody, awakens in a disoriented state, hurtling towards a dense rain-forest. After a rough landing, he quickly realizes he is not alone; a nearby parachutist has perished upon impact. As he gathers his bearings, he meets a motley crew of survivors, including the stern Mexican cartel enforcer Cuchillo (Danny Trejo), the formidable Spetsnaz soldier Nikolai (Oleg Taktarov), the sharp-eyed sniper Isabelle (Alice Braga), the Revolutionary United Front officer Mombasa (Mahershala Ali), the enigmatic death row inmate Stans (Walton Goggins), Yakuza enforcer Hanzo (Louis Ozawa), and the doctor Edwin, portrayed by Topher Grace. Stranded without knowledge of their location or how they arrived, the group navigates through a bizarre jungle teeming with empty cages and neurotoxin plants, while Edwin collects samples with a scalpel.
As they ascend to more elevated ground, they gaze upwards at an alien sky, piecing together the unsettling realization that they are no longer on Earth. Royce suspects that they have been lured to this jungle for sinister reasons, particularly since every member, except for Edwin, is a skilled killer. The tension escalates when a vicious pack of alien beasts hunts them, leading Royce to deduce that they are mere prey in a twisted game of survival.
Tragedy strikes when they discover Cuchillo’s body, manipulated by the very creatures that threaten their lives. Following the grotesque trail of this hunt, they stumble upon a captured Predator and are soon ambushed by larger Predators. During the chaos, Mombasa is killed, but the remaining survivors manage to escape. Isabelle eventually recalls chilling reports of these creatures from a lone survivor of a Special Forces mission in Val Verde back in 1987, heightening their dread.
Their fortune changes when they encounter Noland, portrayed by Laurence Fishburne, a long-time survivor on this planet who shares his harrowing experiences of eluding the Predators. He divulges their dark obsession with honing their hunting skills by abducting the world’s deadliest warriors, hinting at a divide among the species — a blood feud between the larger and smaller Predators. Royce concocts a plan to free the smaller Predator, hoping it can aid their escape using a Predator spaceship.
However, Noland’s intentions are sinister, and he attempts to eliminate the group. In the ensuing panic, Nikolai heroically sacrifices himself to take out one of the Predators. The stakes continue to rise when Stans falls victim to the next Predator, but Hanzo avenges him with a deadly sword fight that ultimately costs him his life.
As Edwin faces danger from a trap, he discloses his murderous past to Isabelle. When Royce appears to defend her, he kills Edwin, setting the stage for a desperate showdown. He rigs Edwin’s body with grenades as a daring bait to distract the Predator. Amid the turmoil, Royce cleverly masks his heat signature, but the Predator adapts, honing in on Royce’s heartbeat.
A climactic battle ensues, where just when defeat seems imminent, Isabelle maneuvers herself to take the shot, enabling Royce to sever the Predator’s head. As the surviving duo takes a moment to recover, they witness more prey being dropped into their unforgiving jungle, compelling Royce to resolve that they must find a way off this alien world before it’s too late.
