After starting his acting career locally, he ventured into international territories with a guest appearance on the British TV series Dalziel and Pascoe in 2006. His breakthrough came when he took over the role of Daario Naharis in Game of Thrones, joining as a series regular. He's also known for starring in The Haunting of Hill House (2018), and The Flight Attendant (2020). In 2022, he made an impressive lead role portrayal in the black ops military series Echo 3.
