Milla Jovovich, born as Milica Bogdanovna Jovović on December 17, 1975, is an American actress and former fashion model, widely recognized for her starring roles in numerous science-fiction and action films. Born in Kiev and raised in Los Angeles, Jovovich embarked on a modeling career at a young age. Her acting debut was in 1988 in the television film The Night Train to Kathmandu and her first feature film was Two Moon Junction.

Jovovich gained significant attention after featuring in the 1991 romance film Return to the Blue Lagoon. Notably, her breakthrough came with her role in the 1997 French science-fiction action film The Fifth Element. She married and divorced filmmaker Luc Besson during this period. Jovovich portrayed Alice in the Resident Evil film franchise from 2002 to 2016. Besides acting and modeling, Jovovich is a musician. She released her debut album, The Divine Comedy, in 1994 and continued to contribute to film soundtracks. Jovovich also co-created, with model Carmen Hawk, the clothing line Jovovich–Hawk, which ran from 2003 until 2008.
