34th Academy Awards 1962
The 34th Academy Awards honored movies released in 1961 and was held at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium on April 9, 1962. The ceremony featured memorable wins including Best Directing and Best Motion Picture for West Side Story, as well as Best Actor for Judgment at Nuremberg and Best Actress for Two Women. Special honors were also awarded with the Thalberg Award to Stanley Kramer and the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award to George Seaton.
