As Max stalks Lori at a bar and subsequently attacks her, Sam learns of the incident and visits Lori in the hospital, where she is too traumatized to testify against her assailant. When Sam confides in Kersek about trapping Max, he flatly refuses, further straining his relationship with Leigh about the looming threat they face.
Max, undeterred by threats, begins communicating with Danielle under the guise of her drama teacher, leading to a kiss that complicates matters further. In response, Sam organizes an ambush on Max, but Max turns the tables on Sam’s hired thugs, showcasing his cunning. Max retains lawyer Lee Heller ([Gregory Peck]) to defend him, bringing to light a tape recording of Sam threatening him, which leads to a restraining order being issued against Sam.
