After actor Declan discovers the unfortunate news regarding the cancellation of the immensely popular TV series Belle, he finds himself in a predicament as he has to break the news to his fellow cast members: the aspiring writer Kip, the self-absorbed diva Kelly, the pragmatic and composed Alex, the rather oblivious Chrissy, and the jovial Max. While the announcement stirs feelings of uncertainty, Kip seizes this moment as an opportunity, revealing to his friends that he has been working diligently on a horror movie script. As they ponder the prospect of creating a film of their own, excitement begins to bubble within the group, despite Kelly’s initial reluctance. However, once convinced, she quickly stipulates that her involvement is contingent upon landing the leading role.
With renewed enthusiasm, they dive into the challenging process of filmmaking, balancing the task of refining Kip’s less-than-stellar script with managing Kelly’s escalating frustrations. Amid this creative chaos, Chrissy’s pendulum inspires an intriguing idea: they decide to incorporate a séance into their film, although Chrissy initially expresses wariness about participating. Still, she agrees to use the pendulum during the shoot, albeit reluctantly.
As the days pass, Max, optimistic about their prospects, shares some of their footage with his manager, claiming the movie will become a huge sensation, which boosts everyone’s morale. Yet, as the actual séance scenes unfold, a wave of unsettling experiences begins to plague the group. Strange occurrences manifest—Declan hears thunder despite the clear night sky, Kelly feels an inexplicable chill as a gust of wind brushes against her face, and ominously, a shadow lurks behind Chrissy, which she claims to be oblivious to. The discomfort escalates when Alex reviews her footage and notices the same eerie shadow appears.
The following day takes an alarming turn when Chrissy joins a video call with a disturbing blackened eye, suggesting that she had been striking herself during the night, something she claims was utterly unintentional. At first, the group dismisses it as a ploy for attention, but as odd incidents coincide with their attempts to film the séance, they realize something sinister is occurring. This culminates in Kip’s decision to halt filming for the night, recognizing the eerie tension amongst them.
However, that night, the unease escalates when Kip wakes Alex, revealing that Chrissy has posted a terrifying video of an unknown figure recording her while she slept. In a frantic effort, Kip contacts the rest of the cast, but Chrissy abruptly disconnects. As panic sets in, Declan initiates a video call, and they witness in horror a looming presence in Chrissy’s home. Rushing to her aid, Declan arrives just in time to witness the unimaginable: Chrissy, under the influence of the pendulum, is choking herself. In a panic, Declan escapes with the pendulum, the source of the mounting terror.
Days later, a harrowing call from Kip informs Declan of Chrissy’s tragic demise, classified as an accident. The group grapples with the decision of whether they should continue their film project. Amid this turmoil, Declan resolves to discard Chrissy’s pendulum, finally recognizing it as the root of their horrifying experiences. Yet, the entity tied to the pendulum has other plans, and Declan meets a grisly fate, being strangled and subsequently possessed.
Unbeknownst to the rest of the cast, Declan’s fate remains a secret as they receive an unexpected invitation from the creators of Belle, revealing intentions to renew the series for three additional seasons in honor of Chrissy. In an eerie twist of fate, one of the producers, Bobbie, stumbles across a package from Declan that contains materials for the séance alongside Chrissy’s pendulum. After unwittingly reciting the séance once again, a horrific turn of events unfurls as the entire group becomes possessed, leaving the producers convinced that they were merely pawns in a twisted prank.
