Shia Saide LaBeouf, born on June 11, 1986, is an esteemed American actor and filmmaker. His career in the film industry began in 1996, making his film debut in The Christmas Path (1998). He received widespread recognition for his role as Louis Stevens in the Disney Channel series Even Stevens, for which he received Young Artist Award nominations in 2001 and 2002, and a Daytime Emmy Award in 2003. His directorial debut came in 2004 with a short titled Let's Love Hate, and he later directed Maniac (2011). In 2007, he starred in successful films like Disturbia and Surf's Up and further gained prominence for his role as Sam Witwicky in the Transformers movies (2007 to 2011). His film credits extend to many other successful movies such as Holes (2003), Constantine (2005), Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010), Lawless (2012), The Company You Keep (2012), and Nymphomaniac (2013) among others. After 2014, he explored public performance art with LaBeouf, Rönkkö & Turner.

Born in Los Angeles, California, Shia is the only child of visual artist, Shayna Saide, and professional clown, Jeffrey LaBeouf. He describes his upbringing as being surrounded by a 'hippy lifestyle', similar to his parents, who he describes as 'pretty weird people.' After his parents' divorce due to financial problems, LaBeouf spent his childhood with his mother. Despite family hardships, including his father's struggle with drug addiction and financial difficulties, he describes his childhood positively. LaBeouf's personal and career challenges have often grabbed headlines, including a variety of legal issues and his battle with alcoholism. Despite these trials, he has remained committed to his craft and maintained a significant presence in the film industry.
